The 5COR approach

Connection comes before correction.

When family life has become a cycle of arguments and frustration, 5COR creates space for parents and children to reconnect, practice communication, and develop shared responsibilities. Treatment is collaborative, age-appropriate, and tailored to each family.

♥

✓

Cooperate

✦

Thrive

Use those skills at home, adjust as needed, and support growing independence.

What sessions look like

Less talking about change. More practicing it.

Children and parents participate together when clinically appropriate. We create opportunities to experience connection, learn new responses, and practice skills that can be used at home.

1

Reconnect

Help parents and children experience belonging, emotional safety, and understanding. Activities are always adapted to the family's comfort and consent.

2

Practice

Explore challenging moments, rehearse different responses, and agree on one realistic next step to practice between sessions.

3

Build independence

Review what is working, adjust what isn't, and decrease session frequency when clinically appropriate. The goal is practical progress, not unnecessary ongoing therapy.

The 5COR Staircase Model

Support that adapts as your family grows.

This is a flexible framework, not a required course of treatment. Some families need only a few visits; others benefit from longer or more intensive care.

Step 01

Build connection and skills

Appointments may begin weekly as families identify goals, practice strategies, and establish helpful routines.

Step 02

Strengthen and apply

As appropriate, appointments can become less frequent while skills are reinforced in everyday situations.

Step 03

Maintain progress

Many families move to appointments only when needed. Support remains available when new challenges arise.

“The goal isn't to keep your family in therapy. It's to help your family build skills to thrive beyond it.”
